SLAMD is available in a number of forms, including full precompiled "binary" distributions, web archives (WAR files) that can be deployed in any standard Web application container, and in source form. The source is freely available under the Sun Public License.

The current release is SLAMD version 2.0.0-alpha1. The "alpha" classification primarily refers to the fact that it is not yet a feature version of what will become SLAMD 2.0.0, but it does not indicate that this release is unstable or untested. It offers a number of new features and bugfixes over the previous SLAMD 1.8.2 release, as described in the release notes, but if you would prefer to run the older SLAMD 1.8.2 version (or an even earlier release), then you can find it at the bottom of the page.

The files listed below are available for download as part of the SLAMD 2.0.0-alpha1 release. Note that as the result of a new build process, there are no longer separate versions for Windows and UNIX systems, but rather the provided ZIP file should work on all platforms.

  • Release Notes -- These are the release notes for SLAMD version 2.0.0-alpha1. They contain a summary of the changes and bug fixes included over the previous 1.8.2 release.

  • Full SLAMD Distribution -- This is the full SLAMD distribution, including the Tomcat servlet engine used to serve the administrative interface. This distribution also includes the SLAMD client and resource monitor client archives.

  • SLAMD Web Archive -- This is the SLAMD WAR file, which can be deployed into any standard Web application container.

  • SLAMD Client -- This package contains the SLAMD client and client manager utilities that should be installed on the systems that will be used for load generation.

  • SLAMD Resource Monitor Client -- This package contains the SLAMD resource monitor client, which should be installed on any system on which you wish to obtain resource monitor statistics (CPU utilization, disk I/O, network throughput, etc.).
