The following documentation is currently available for SLAMD. Note that because the SLAMD 2.0.0 is not yet complete, the documentation listed below is most appropriate for SLAMD 1.8.2 and earlier releases. Much of it will still be applicable for SLAMD 2.x versions, but you should first consult the SLAMD 2.0.0-alpha1 Quick Start Guide and Release Notes to better understand the differences between the 2.x and 1.x releases.

Benchmarking the Sun ONE
Directory Server 5.2 with SLAMD and MakeLDIF -- This document
provides information on using SLAMD to perform a thorough benchmark
of the Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2 (although many of the techniques
can be applied to other products).

This document provides all the information that you should need in
order to be able to use MakeLDIF to generate realistic data files
for testing.

Guide -- This document provides instruction on using the
LDAPDecoder tool to intercept and interpret LDAP communication
for diagnostic purposes or even to automatically generate SLAMD
scripts for generating load.
- SLAMD Architecture and Design -- This is a presentation presented at the Austin, TX Java User Group meeting on October 26, 2004. It provides a short introduction to SLAMD and a very brief overview of some of the details of its construction.
